Annual Plant Sale 2024
Welcome! If you are thinking of joining us, here is some information which may help you make up your mind. One thing is for certain, you can be sure of a warm welcome.

We are a mixed bunch of plantaholics from all around West Cornwall, who are passionate about all things gardening. Our members vary from professional horticulturalists and expert amateurs to those with little or no knowledge who wish to learn about gardening in this amazing but challenging climate of ours here in West Cornwall; mild, wind, salt and rain with sometimes more than a touch of frost!
We meet every month, except August, at Lamorna Village Hall. Our meetings are on the third Wednesday of each month and usually start at 7:30pm. At our meetings, we have a talk, swap ideas and seek advice. We also encourage our members to join in our lighthearted Plant of the Month competition, we hold a raffle and generally get together to socialise.

Talks vary across the whole spectrum of gardening; from gardening with nature to specialist advice for particular plant types, soil health and adapting to climate change. We have also had contributors who have encouraged us to aim at developing plastic free gardens and have raised the issues of the importance of water capture.

Our speakers come from a comprehensive range of enthusiasts from the horticultural world. From plant hunters and specialists, head gardeners and lecturers and of course speakers drawn from our own members' expertise.
In May, we hold our annual fundraiser, a Plant Sale at St Buryan Church. This has been a very successful event where we meet the wider community, engage with potential new members and welcome local growers and nursery folk who usually tempt us with their plants! There is also a raffle and the delicious food is provided by St Buryan Church.

Over the late spring and summer, we organise group garden visits for members and, in the summer we hold our Members' Cream Tea. At Christmas, we hold our Annual General Meeting and Christmas Party.
All of these events are a great opportunity for us to get together.
